Observations and suggestions for improvements

The following observations and suggestions for improvements were collected, following an expert review of the article within the Science, Technology, Society and Wikipedia course at the Politecnico di Milano, in July 2023.

Figure and scheme numbering would greatly help the reader Figure 2 rocking picture is wrong I suggest to better define the number in the square brackets: is number of interlocked molecules, for instance a [3]-catenane consists of three interlocked rings. The picture of side chain polycatenanes is not correct, i suggest to see check the article of Clarkson on Current Opinion in Solid State and Materials Science. Catenated and nanocages "the subunits self-assemble into a 0D cage", "0D cage" what does it means? The paragraph Applications is too short and it does not cover completely the state of art.
