Hello. I have a conflict of interest with this article (I am writing on behalf of the subject, Pol Theis), so per WP:COIADVICE I am proposing the replacement draft below for review by an uninvolved editor rather than editing the article directly.
Why a rewrite: the current article has had no substantive update since about 2015, and much of its publication list is cited only to the subject's website. The proposed text replaces that list with a concise, independently sourced biography covering his legal career, design practice, major projects, international press, recognition and books.
Notes for the reviewing editor:
- Sources differ on his move to New York and the firm's founding, giving 2001, 2002 or 2004. This draft uses 2002, consistent with the current article and the firm's account.
- The 2015 award claims are supported by trade press and the awarding body; broader independent coverage is limited.
- The subject maintains a private source ledger and press archive with full issue and page details for the offline citations; neither is proposed for publication.

Pol Theis (born 1968) is a Luxembourg-born interior designer based in New York City. He is the founder and principal of the interior design firm P&T Interiors.[1] Before becoming a designer, he worked as a fashion model and later practiced corporate law in Luxembourg and Paris.[2][3]
Theis left legal practice and established P&T Interiors in New York in 2002.[3] His international residential work spans renovations and new construction, including multiple residences in the Hamptons.[4][5] His interiors have been covered by The Wall Street Journal, The Telegraph, Vogue Living, Architectural Digest, the US edition of Elle Decor, international editions of Elle Decoration, Ideat, Harper's Bazaar and Marie Claire Maison, and have appeared in books on contemporary residential design.[6][7][8][9][10][11][12][13][4][14] New York Spaces named Theis to its Top 50 Designers list in four consecutive editions, from 2012 through 2015–16.[15]
Early life and legal career
[edit]Theis was born in 1968 in Luxembourg. In his younger years, Theis had a successful career as a fashion model.[3] He attended Paris-Panthéon-Assas University, graduating in 1993 with a master's degree in business and tax law, and graduated from Paris-Sorbonne University the following year with a master's degree in business and economic law. He was admitted to the Luxembourg Bar and practiced as an attorney in Luxembourg in 1995 and 1996.[16][17][18] During this period, he co-authored “Les holdings et les SOPARFI au Luxembourg” (“Holding Companies and SOPARFIs in Luxembourg”), a study published by Bruylant in Annales du droit luxembourgeois.[19][20]
He later practiced at international corporate law firms in Paris before leaving the legal profession for interior design.[21][3][16]
Interior design career
[edit]
Notable projects
[edit]Theis's work spans renovations and new construction, from former carpet warehouses in New York and schoolrooms converted into Paris lofts to country houses in Connecticut and historic farmhouses in Luxembourg.[6][22][23][24] His residential clients have included prominent collectors, gallery owners and high-profile figures in the entertainment business.[25][26]
Press coverage
[edit]Theis's work has appeared in design and general-interest publications including Elle Decor, New York Spaces, Objekt International and Résidences Décoration.[10][27][28][29] International coverage has included editions of Architectural Digest (AD) in Spain, Russia and Mexico, and projects published by Elle Decoration in its Chinese, French, Greek, Philippine and Argentine editions.[9][30][31][11][32][33] Italy's Marie Claire Maison featured a Hamptons property, while Harper's Bazaar Hong Kong ran Theis's portrait and interiors.[4][13]
Magazine covers
[edit]His interiors have also appeared on magazine covers in the United States and Europe. In 2006, Russia's Interior+Design devoted its tenth-anniversary cover to his Flatiron District loft, using a portrait of Meryl Streep photographed against a propeller-pattern wallpaper designed by his firm.[34] Other cover appearances included Résidences Décoration, New York Home, Elle Decor Italia, New York Spaces and Elle Decoration Argentina.[35][36][37][38][39] Ideat included him on the cover of its 2016 Spécial New York, and Theis himself appeared on the 2018 annual Fashion cover of Interior+Design.[12][40]
Magazine profiles have called Theis "the aesthete of Fifth Avenue" and a "darling of the interior design world", and included him among "the 10 New York designers not to be missed".[16][41][12]
Recognition
[edit]In 2011, P&T Interiors received a Highly Commended Residential Property Interior (USA) award at the Americas Property Awards, held in association with Bloomberg Television, for its Sag Harbor house "31 Pigeons".[42][43] New York Spaces named Theis one of its Top 50 Designers in four consecutive editions of the annual list - 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015–16.[15][44][45][46] In 2015, the firm won Best Interior Design Apartment - New York at the Americas Property Awards for its project "The Box",[47] Best Interior Design Private Residence at the European Property Awards for "The Tower" in Luxembourg, and the regional Americas title for Interior Design Apartment at the International Property Awards Grand Final.[48]
