Example
[edit]I started this stub - it could probably use some work (even a total rewrite, perhaps). I'd like to find a decent existing story or movie that could be used as an example - I don't really want to invent some example just to illustrate the concept. TheHYPO 13:14, 18 November 2006 (UTC)

It does, but a single, unattached story (such as a film or book) would be a better example than one episode of a long series, in which it can be argued that the plot drifts in one episode, but the drift expands upon the overall story of the series. In a film there is generally no use for character development outside the main plot of the film, as the characters story ends with the movie. Additionally, The Simpsons, as an increasingly farcical comedy can perhaps excuse plot drift as a furthering their comedy. It would be a more solid example in a novel or drama film TheHYPO 03:09, 12 May 2007 (UTC)
