Durham dialect vs Pitmatic

I, half Durham-ish, have never heard the term Pitmatic used to describe the dialect and accent. In general, the dialect is known as "Durham dialect" by speakers and speakers of surrounding dialects such as Mackem. I will add a name for it in the article, however I would like a source for why Pitmatic is an endonym/exonym. Mr anonymous username (talk) 20:33, 17 October 2020 (UTC)

I noticed that the Pitmatic version doesn't match that in either the Complete Works [1] or Tilly's biography [2].

I was wondering what your source is, and also the source of the Translation?

Proposed deletion of "Sample text" subsection

Rationale, also referring to earlier topic 'Marla Hill Ducks in "Sample text" subsection' (posted 27 June 2025):

• no attribution for Pitmatic text (according to the verifiability policy, an inline citation to a reliable source must be provided for all quotations);
• translation has grammatical errors (e.g., "In a small colliery village call [called] Marley Hill", "But like other prisoners they should have a try [trial]" & "If he'd given [them] a chance, they'd all have got bail").
