Totalitarianism

Pinochet was totalitarian. He supressed all political activity, killed anyone that opposed him by sending them to the arenas where people are tortured or kicking them out of helicopters, tried to do an auto-coup after the referendum that ended his oppressive military dictatorship. The article totalitarianism reads the term itself is defunct (its sourced). For that reason we should avoid using that term on Pinochet, his regime and on Pinochetism. Also, even if totalitarianism would be a valid descriptor it does no apply on Pinochet, his regime nor Pinochetism as there was never the aim to control all aspects of life. Some degree of opposition was allowed, specially in the 1980s. The regime's repression was indeed selective. Dentren | ^Talk 11:36, 10 March 2022 (UTC)

Pinochetism is not Fascism

Pinochetism includes capitalism, which is not present in fascism, and therefore the description of fascism is irrelevant and should be removed, although the popular understanding of fascism is capitalist, it is not in practice. Thoughts? JohnWarosa (talk) 22:39, 5 December 2023 (UTC)
