Groper

[edit]

On this disambiguation page, the IP network program "ping" is defined as "Packet InterNet Groper" - and this is explicitly listed as incorrect on the ping page itself. So I'm going to remove it :-)  Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.99.27.142 (talk) 00:18, 12 September 2004 (UTC)Reply

M1 Garand (WW2 rifle)

[edit]

"the noise an M1 Garand makes when it ejects"? Is anyone going to actually visit this disambig page looking for an M1 Garand? --Interiot 20:29, 16 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

TCP/IP

[edit]

I dont think ping operates under TCP/IP. 71.16.217.178 18:19, 7 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

PING ( Packet Internet Gopher )  Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.243.137.17 (talk) 04:40, 10 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

The following Bands named Ping have been removed from the main disambiguation page due to having no WP page. They are listed here for reference in the event that pages are created in the future.

Magic: The Gathering and elastic bands

[edit]

Could someone who understands the game sort out the two Magic: The Gathering references (or are they correct? they look odd)

I've cut the definition of Ping as the noise made by an elastic band from the TCP/IP ping page. Feel free to write a page for it if you think it's worth it; I don't, especially as it's covered by the Wiktionary link.

In Magic: The Gathering

[edit]

Anyone know which card did Ping appear in Magic: The Gathering? I got complete no idea... -CHTtw —Preceding unsigned comment added by CHTtw (talkcontribs) 07:38, 3 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Move discussion in progress

[edit]

There is a move discussion in progress which affects this page. Please participate at Talk:Ping - Requested move and not in this talk page section. Thank you. RM bot 02:20, 26 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

[edit]

I think this is a rare case where, in a general article ( in this case: Ping (disambiguation) #Computing / Science and technology / Computing ), a link to an article about Wikipedia itself ( in this case: Wikipedia:Ping ), would be appropriate.

Reason: The use in WP:

  • is just another use of the term "ping" AND
  • should not be missing in this list.

Not done: it's not clear what changes you want made. Please detail the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. Toast1454TC 14:03, 24 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
