Araucanian thunder, fire, and volcano god

Many sources refer to Pillan as "the Araucanian thunder, fire, and volcano god" (including the Wikipedia article on Pillan Patera). This is a unique deity (not mentioned here other than the ambiguous "a powerful and respected male spirit") rather than a type of spirit. Admittedly, Pillan is a Mapuche word for 'volcano' and this useage presumably refers to some kind of personification, but is this a deity or a class of spirits or both?. Can someone clarify this please - and if necessary introduce a disambiguation page? (I note Wikipedia says (see Mapuche) that "Araucanian" is now considered to be pejorative term by some.
