Is this the person Schenck avenue is named after? I'm also finding a "Schenck & Williams" architectural firm that did some important Dayton buildings. But there's also a 19th Century Robert C. Schenck. ChildofMidnight (talk) 22:31, 15 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
A couple of lines of Schenck families came to Dayton from New Jersey early in the 19th century, so there are numerous descendants to be found in Dayton. They were prominent in business and politics. The partner in the architectural firm was Harry Irvin Schenck, is a 5th cousin on Peirce Davies Schenck, Sr. In fact he has 5 cousin relationships because of the many intermarriages of several lines. Robert Cumming Schenck is a former member of Congress, military General and diplomat (there are several of this same name, as well). Peirce was his 1st cousin once removed. BTW, Peirce is the correct spelling, so this article should be renamed. David (talk) 01:11, 23 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
