What's the etymology?, I wonder.169.139.19.207 (talk) 19:20, 30 August 2011 (UTC) I experienced this myself when I planted water melon back in 1980's. Then I thought it was the affect of the chemical Methyl Parathion, used in treating the seeds before germination. Goldenrod gall
