Flashes of light in the total darkness
[edit]The article does not say anything about seeing anything in the total darkness, which is misleading because most people find it impossible to see anything without light. By all means it is possible, and it happened to me - I have a posterior vitreous detachment. [edit]The article only refers to long term photopsia. However, most people experience it occasionally for a few seconds with no consequences- because it can be the result of a particularly hard sneeze, or rubbing your eyes real hard, or even just straining on the toilet. The article gives the impression if you see it it's always a problem and the reasons can all be problematic, but this is only true if you experience photopsia over longer periods of time.
