- what are the symptoms of phlebitis? pain, leg feels hard and/or warm over phlebitic spot yet cooler or cold elsewhere
- what is the etiology of phlebitis? What's etiology?
- what is the epydemiolgy of phlebitis? What's epydemiology?
- what is the terapy of phlebitis? Terapy?
- what is the treatment of phlebitis? usually anti-inflammatories either by mouth which may cause stomach upset, anal pessary (safer) but may cause some iritation (rare) or skin gels, usually IBUPROFEN though absorption rate is poor. Injection of some anti-inflammatories (bloody painful, as often, if susetible to one, will react against others. Brand name of other drugs: Voltarol

Cause?

[edit]There is no "phlebitis" as described here. What is described is a lymphatic infection or inflamation. Don't forget that lymphatics run superficial but at parallel to the saphenous vein plan. Phlebitis means usually thrombophlebitis and is the vein thrombosis. All terms with itis suffix mean infection or inflammation except phlebitis or thrombophlebitis which means thrombosis. Agreed. This article is really about superficial phlebitis. It claims it is different to DVT, yet even sources cited here say that DVT is a form of phlebitis. Needs a rewrite.
