This article deserves more work; in my recent work on biographies of historians of science I am coming across numerous secondary references to this award as both (a) the most prestigious award for books in history of science and (b) a reliable marker of career-defining achievements for notable scholars in the history of science. I am prioritizing improving the biographies for now so I have no specific timeline for coming back to this, but it seemed worth leaving a note if any others would like to beat me to it.
