Petting of animals → Petting – I genuinely do not know why petting redirects to a section in the article for making out. The word is much more commonly associated with animals, see for example Google Scholar results for "petting" "animal" (38,500 results) compared with "petting" "making out" (1,790 results). ―Howard • 🌽33 22:35, 5 February 2026 (UTC)
- Oppose — Unless the scope of the article itself can be broadened to include all petting (of animals or otherwise), then I don't think it should be moved. But, "petting" should absolutely redirect to this article, without question. Hugo P. Behrmann (☎) 04:53, 6 February 2026 (UTC)

- I have never heard of the word used in the context of making out until wikipedia redirected to it, and there appear to be an obvious favor in sources with reference to animals. ―Howard • 🌽33 12:52, 6 February 2026 (UTC)
