Notability

I am not sure that Peter Vroman is notable. He was commissioned as a colonel at the start of the war, commanding a unit of the Albany Militia. See page 120 of New York in the Revolution as Colony and State. It is not clear that he fought in any particular actions during the war. Otherwise he was a farmer, albeit a rich one, based on the money and lands handed out in Peter Vroman's will of 1768, will abstracts page 39 of volume 32 of Collections of the New York Historical Society for the Year. That elder Peter Vroman was either his father or his grandfather. Unfortunately, I do not have a copy of History of Schoharie County, New York, 1713-1882, which book should either establish his notability, or fail to do so. --Bejnar (talk) 04:09, 28 July 2012 (UTC)

NRHP

Are we jumping the gun? The most recent weekly list] only goes through July 20, 2012. If this is going to be an NRHP, it has not been announced. What is the reference number? Please respond or someone should remove infobox. KudzuVine (talk) 11:00, 28 July 2012 (UTC)

For those not in the know, NRHP is the National Register of Historic Places in the United States. It is generally conceded that NRHP listing grants notability. See, for example, Wikipedia:Notability/Noticeboard/Archive 1#National register of historic places. The house is included in the Library of Congress's "Historic American Buildings Survey" here. I could not find any nomination for this house to the National Register of Historic Places. Regardless, even if the house is notable, I suspect that Col. Peter Vroman is not. --Bejnar (talk) 20:10, 29 July 2012 (UTC)

Switched to building infobox because it has not been shown to be on the nrhp. Added habs reference. No idea of notability of the person. House is old, but it has lost some of the features (dormers, roofing) of the habs photo. House may not even qualify as nrhp. Thanks for your help, KudzuVine (talk) 23:29, 29 July 2012 (UTC)
