Important

[edit]

Peter Singer is an academic philosopher with controversial views on many subjects, including effective altruism, animal liberation, and disabled infants. The Wikipedia article is intended to describe his philosophical views and reasoned criticisms of those views without taking sides. If you came here to say that you disapprove of Peter Singer or to object to some aspect of his views, please read the talk archive before making any changes.

Criticism

[edit]

Removing Singer's comments about euthanizing babies, or other morally controversial positions and burying them in "Further Reading" is kind of a laundering of the man's beliefs.

There are lots of Wikipedia articles that do not launder away these kinds of issues and it seems to me that this particular person has a whole host of EA acolytes at the ready to do this kind of laundry. 142.198.59.201 (talk) 18:40, 11 February 2025 (UTC)Reply

There is a whole subsection on it named "Euthanasia and infanticide", it's actually not buried in "Further Reading". Alenoach (talk) 01:30, 12 February 2025 (UTC)Reply
