Does anyone know what Shaffer has been doing after publishing The Gift of the Gorgon in 1992? He seems to have completely vanished...

He is living in quiet retirement with his boyfriend.

Emigration

i think some mention is needed here of his emigration. in one sentence he is a coalminer somewhere in the u.k. in the next he is an assistant in the new york public library.Toyokuni3 (talk) 17:11, 23 February 2010 (UTC)

Mark Lawson
