Autobiography tag

I have removed the {{Autobiography}} tag from the article, for two reasons:

Firstly the template's documentation says (formatting in original):

if you place this tag, you should promptly start a discussion on the article's talk page to explain what is non-neutral about the article. If you do not start this discussion, then any editor is justified in removing the tag without warning.

No such discussion exists.

Secondly, it also says:

This tag should be removed when the autobiographical edit has been reverted or when the content of such an edit has been verified independently by another Wikipedia editor and evaluated/edited for neutrality, balance, and impartiality.

All the edits made by the article subject were done when this was a draft; a neutral third party then carried out a review and published it. No edits have been made by the article subject since that review. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 14:47, 11 May 2026 (UTC)

I don't know about the article resembling an autobiography so much as being practically a CV/resume; it excessively cites primary sources, e.g. everything but the "about self" info in the lede is sourced to scholarly articles/papers that the subject himself authored, with no secondary sources talking about those works or their significance... That the article went through AFC is irrelevant. Neither of the other tags refers to typical problems with autobiography - namely NPOV and V. You removed the template when the problem had not been dealt with, contrary to WP:TEMPREMOVE. I only replaced it because there were clearly still issues remaining with the content. If you want to try and verify the content, then please do. Then we can remove the tag. SmartSE (talk) 17:46, 11 May 2026 (UTC)

That the article went through AFC is relevant, for the reason I stated.

Furthermore, going through AfC is the path which we strongly advise autobiographers to take, precisely so that their work is reviewed before publication.
