"Chrisko Expedition"?

[edit]

I can't find any info on a "Chrisko Expedition." Did someone mess with the name and nobody thought to question it? I'm lost. 2605:E000:1609:1FF:E876:D87A:2EED:A8D6 (talk) 03:24, 6 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

Long Term Consequences?

[edit]

Is it true that the long term consequence of this was that the fright the Japanese government got forced them to re-arm themselves massively; that it started them on the long road to Pearl Harbour etc? If so, should we say so here? IceDragon64 (talk) 02:27, 9 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

I agree. However, when I tried to add perspective to the article, it was quickly removed. Even stating the obvious and supported by history, no one wants to address the unexpected results of decisions. ISTCC (talk) 07:39, 7 December 2024 (UTC)Reply

No because it was not fated for Japan to go down that particular road because it opened up to trade. Japan supported the Allied powers in ww1 all be it an opportunistic gambit , but there was no set outcome, Japan would have established contact and trade eventually without a Perry expedition and could still have ended up In ww2 ~2025-31437-81 (talk) 13:02, 30 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
