This page has been incorrectly labeled as a copyright violation. The user references the description of the company from a joint press release involving the company. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.34.35.201 (talkcontribs)

Is the press release GFDL, then? It says Copyright © 2006 Fair Isaac Corporation. All rights reserved. Pseudomonas 14:25, 21 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

The press release content does not apply to the bios of a company. Fair Isaac Corporation doesn't retain copyright over Perrone Robotics' bio. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.34.35.201 (talkcontribs)

Who does hold the copyright, then, given that it wasn't an original work by a Wikipedia editor? Pseudomonas 21:36, 21 July 2006 (UTC)Reply
You're acknowledging that you don't know who owns the copyright or even if there is one. Yet you've flagged it as a copyright violation. The page should thus be restored until such time that a copyright violation is correctly identified or any potential copyright owner (if anybody this would be Perrone Robotics) indicates otherwise. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.35.35.201 (talkcontribs)
Pardon my elipsis. What I meant was Who do you think does hold the copyright, then, given that it wasn't [&c]. Pseudomonas 15:07, 22 July 2006 (UTC)Reply
Facts: 1) You've flagged the page as a copyright violation; 2) You don't know who owns the copyright; 3) You don't know if there is a copyright for the bio; and 4) You're speculating that there is a copyright for the bio. Conclusions: 1) There is no proof that the posting was a copyright violation; 2) Fair-Isaac Corporation clearly does not own the copyright of another company's bio; 3) Anyone can speculate that there is a copyright violation for every single page on Wiki; 4) It is not helpful and it is in fact destructive to the Wiki community to randomly speculate on whether or not there is a copyright violation for a page; and 5) The page should be re-established. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.35.35.201 (talkcontribs)
