Merge proposal

It seems perfection and perfectionism are similar or identical. If the same concept, I propose they be merged under the title "perfectionism" (as the MoS suggests "ism"s for movements and belief systems etc.), even though the "Perfection" article appears to be the better of the two. If so, then perfection (disambiguation) needs to be moved to perfectionism (disambiguation), with a redirect left behind of course. Colin MacLaurin 15:58, 14 September 2007 (UTC)

Oppose: I kicked off this page about a year ago (not a whole lot of work on it, I know), with the idea of creating a page on the Philosophy of Perfectionism. This strand of philosophical theory dates back to Aristotle, and includes philosophers like Karl Marx. See http://plato.stanford.edu/entries/perfectionism-moral/ for an example. Perfectionism & Pessimism

Is it possible for someone to find some sourses for the link between pessimism and perfectionsm? I read somewhere that since things are never perfect, perfectionists can be quite pessimistic, as nothing is ever how they feel it should be. I can't remember where, but I'm too busy to look.
