Critical Response Section – WP:UNDUE and WP:RECENTISM Concerns

I would like to raise a concern regarding the length and proportion of the Critical Response section in this article.

Perfect Crown began airing on April 10, 2026, and is still currently ongoing. The Reception section, as it stands, is disproportionately long relative to the rest of the article — longer than the Plot, Cast, and Production sections combined. Wikipedia policy on undue weight advises that article structure should reflect proportional coverage, and that early or developing coverage should not dominate an article before a full critical picture has emerged.

I am not disputing the validity of the sources cited, which appear to come from reliable outlets. However, I would propose the following:

• The Critical Response section be condensed to a brief 2–3 sentence summary of the general reception, noting that reviews were mixed, until the series concludes and a more complete critical consensus develops.
• Once the drama finishes airing, the section can be expanded again with a fuller and more balanced overview.

This is consistent with how other ongoing K-drama articles on Wikipedia are handled. I welcome any discussion before further edits are made to this section.

All the reception in most K-dramas has been based on the initial reviews. That doesn't mean the information can't be updated if new details emerge, which hasn’t happened. Unfortunately, reporters and critics have focused more on writing about rankings than on the acting itself, information that has also been included. Dngmin (talk) 21:03, 19 April 2026 (UTC)

Prestige Online (April 11, 2026) rated the series 4.5/5, praising the leads' performances and chemistry . Lifestyle Asia (April 19, 2026) also recommended streaming it, noting IU makes the strongest impression . Clearly WP:RECENTISM and WP:UNDUE, particularly when only four of 12 episodes have aired. As written, the section reads less like a proportionate summary of reception than a coatrack for repetitive criticism, contrary to WP:INDISCRIMINATE. It is also not balanced. WP:UNDUE applies to the article as a whole, not just to an individual section. Accordingly, there are two related weight problems here: first, the reception section itself gives undue weight to repetitive critical commentary; second, reception as a whole appears to occupy a disproportionate share of the article, making the weight problem article-wide as well as section-specific. What happens on WP:OTHERCONTENT is not binding precedent and does not overrride the policies and guidelines, if there was such misconception. Controversy

Idk, why controversey is not include in the article? There is a spark controversies in a production over accusations did not accurately depict a royal coronation ceremony. In this controversey, IU and Byeon Woo-seok apologize to viewers who have supported the drama with love for causing concern over issues related to the series’ fictional setting and historical accuracy

Additionaly, according to the source of Maeil Business Newspaper, the production team behind the MBC drama Perfect Crown has decided to remove the coronation scene that became the center of controversy over historical distortion.
