Unverified material

A bunch of quite old edits by User:Paulsimo are not verified by reliable sources and are bordering on WP:INDISCRIMINATE. Possible violations of WP:NOR as well. There are also numerous cut-and-paste copyvios (eg: http://www.slsa.sa.gov.au/manning/pn/m/m8.htm#milendella). I won't delete them immediately so that any appropriate content can be rewritten into new prose. Other issues include the word list which also contains some 'Kaurna' terms. The genealogy has an erroneous pair, i.e. Annie Mason was not a partner with Sam Disher, Sam Disher was with an Annie Perry, and Annie Mason had a number of spouses including Joe Trevorrow, Joe walker and Jack Koolmatrie. Therefore descendants of Sam Disher-X-Annie are NOT Peramangk.124.182.108.23 (talk) 09:36, 11 August 2012 (UTC)

Map boundaries

The map is not accurate, and not true to Tindale's maps. The consensus is that the eastern boundary of Peramangk territory did not extend to the River Murray but was limited to the eastern escarpment of the Adelaide Hills.Jutlandvalley (talk) 23:59, 2 June 2011 (UTC)

While I agree that traditional Peramangk territory did not extend to the Murray (though some sources claim that there were small areas along the Murray that were consistently available to them), my current research indicates that post-European arrival the Peramangk borders quickly shifted east, as Europeans encroached. By the 1920's Peramangk were found more commonly along the River Murray than in the Hills.

I'm a linguist working with the Peramangk btw. A lot of this article is based on the work by Simpson 2011, which is so often just wrong. Honestly not sure where he got most of his sources. Kosta Zacharias (talk) 09:31, 4 January 2026 (UTC)

Yeah, I shuddered when I looked at it the other day. I'm slowly removing either copyvios or original research but will not complain if someone realy takes a scythe to it. --Roisterer (talk) 22:41, 16 January 2014 (UTC)
