History of metal pens
[edit]On the AD 21 page, a user has added that "The manufacture of pens and metal writing tools begins in Rome (approximate date)." Does anyone have a reference that would strengthen that statement, or care to refute it? Jonathan O'Donnell (talk) 10:12, 14 December 2023 (UTC)

Copper Nib in Pompeii
[edit]I removed the line about a copper nib being found in Pompeii dating to AD 79. The reference was a blog that didn't mention Pompeii at all, and I couldn't find any support (or mention) of this elsewhere. The paragraph reads a little awkwardly now, and the article probably merits more information about pre-19th century metal pens, but I don't have any references or research to hand. - Thanks for pointing that out, that link appears to have been long dead. I added a couple of references to the Pompeii nibs and added a line about a similar pen in the British Museum. Qoan (talk) 11:27, 5 March 2026 (UTC)
Remove audio
[edit]I believe that the audio recording of the pen being dropped does not add anything of value to the page and should thus be removed. Hellohihellohicats26 (talk) 15:06, 25 April 2026 (UTC)
