Spoilers

[edit]

Shouldn't that spoiler of a certain still recent movie be removed?

Genocide

[edit]

"Compare with matricide (the killing of one's mother), filicide (the killing of a child by his or her parent), fratricide (the killing of one's sibling), regicide (the killing of a king), suicide (killing oneself) and homicide (killing another person)." Shouldn't there be genocide too? Best regards, --anon

Parricide v. patricide

[edit]

Parricide and Patricide are different:

par·ri·cide Audio pronunciation of "Parricide" ( P ) Pronunciation Key (pr-sd), n.

  • 1. The murdering of one's father, mother, or other near relative.
  • 2. One who commits such a murder.

Parricide is the killing/murder of ones parents (or one who commits such an act). Patricide is the killing/murdering of ones father (specifically). I am spplitting the parricide and patricide articles.

Patricide & Matricide

[edit]

Is there a word for someone who kills both of their parents? Drutt (talk) 01:19, 29 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Small change.

[edit]

Changed the opening slightly, to pertain to the overall real issues in relation to that term. Patricide, the basics, have nothing to do with killing ones parents, but in forcefully fading out predecessors. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 201.209.46.186 (talk) 16:15, 8 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Patricides in fiction

[edit]

This section needs slimmed down. This shouldn't be a list of every fictional case of patricide every to have existed. Only notable cases of patricide like the story of Oedipus should be included. OlYeller21Talktome 06:24, 29 July 2013 (UTC)Reply
