[edit]Enyclopædia Britannica claims that the shop in question was a restaurant, not in Veracruz but in Tacubaya (at least that he lived there) ? --Stalfur 12:00, 30 November 2005 (UTC)
- My guess is back then, owners would live in their shops, it's easier to keep check on your wares to make sure nobody steals them. Tyciol (talk) 01:30, 12 December 2008 (UTC)
External links modified
[edit]Hello fellow Wikipedians,
I have just added archive links to one external link on Pastry War. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:
- Added archive https://web.archive.org/20131104115445/http://orangeleader.com:80/local/x2056600153/Santa-Anna-s-Leg to http://orangeleader.com/local/x2056600153/Santa-Anna-s-Leg
When you have finished reviewing my changes, please set the checked parameter below to true to let others know.

Source?
[edit]There does not seem to be any source that confirms the claim that "his shop was valued at less than 1,000 pesos". 2A01:CB1C:55F:3500:24CE:C41E:B272:57AB (talk) 15:15, 23 February 2023 (UTC)
Result of condlict
[edit]The result of the conflict cannot be classed as inconclusive because the result of the peace was not merely a return to the status quo.
France gained the guarantee of payment of 600,000 pesos in compensation and that Mexico would provide trade commitments instead of war indemnities. Therefore, the resulting peace secured the objectives of the war for France. Even if Mexico did not fulfil the full payment, this is a casus beli for the next war but does not negate the peace was favourable to France.
The French only withdrew due to the British guaranteeing that Mexico would fufil this. The French won a guarantee of payment through the good offices of Great Britain and withdrew their fleet.
The war also devastated the Mexican economy and severely weakened them.
I am also going to point out the original 'French victory' result was allowed to be changed without any discussion on the talk page. Why? — Preceding unsigned comment added by FR1917 (talk • contribs) 22:39, 1 June 2025 (UTC)
