Battle

[edit]

Can anyone provide any evidence that there was a Battle of Passchendaele on October 10-29, 1918 or that any of the 1918 battles in Flanders were known by any side as the Battle of Passchendaele? British accounts say that Plumer's Second Army was in possession of Passchendaele Ridge by 29 September during a phase known as the "Battle of Ypres 1918" (28 September to 2 October). The next offensive didn't start until 14 October (Courtai Offensive). If there is no evidence of another battle with this name, I think this page should just redirect to Passchendaele seeing as that is where the community has decided the main article should be, and that is what most of the things linking to this page should be linking to.
