Alternative meaning
[edit]The word "parataxonomy" is also used for the taxonomy of egg fossils and maybe other non-body fossils. That may well be a more common use than the term in this article; I may edit it when I have more time to research. Ucucha (talk) 07:13, 29 March 2015 (UTC)
- I was about to make the same comment, but I see you have beaten me to it. I put a dubious tag next to the hatnote that claims parataxonomy is not to be confused with form classification. I am unclear where this sentence originated and I would disagree as the parataxonomy in Costa Rica is done by trained parataxonomists. Citizen Science usually requires little to no training, so how are they not distinct from each other? I would like to read the article/news report that says the terms are interchangeable - can someone share that here? TanyaDapkey (talk) 16:53, 30 October 2020 (UTC)
