It is not a sigma.

[edit]

It is not a sigma. It can't be a sigma. A sigma has the numeric value 200. I am getting tired of having to explain this again and again. I corrected this many times in the number of the beast - article and now I have to do this here. It may look, to you, like a lunate sigma, but it looks just as well like a large stigma. Reading it as a stigma is to be preferred, as a sigma just cannot stand in that position in a Greek number. It would mean that the number of the beast is six hundred and two hundredteen or, in Roman numerals DCLXDC. Neither of these makes sense, just as χις (or χξς) does not make sense. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Iago4096 (talkcontribs) 16:51, 29 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
