Multiple errors

Paphos Harbour Castle is NOT the Byzantine castle, which was located 600m to the west at a site known as Santara Kolonnes (sp.?), the "forty columns". Likewise the excavation report in note 2 refers to that, not this monument. Instead refer to "Integrated Investigation of Built Heritage Monuments: The Case Study of Paphos Harbour Castle, Cyprus" by Vasiliki Lysandrou et alia, in Heritage 1 (2018) p. 1–14; doi:10.3390/heritage1010001. The source cited by the article (https://www.cyprusalive.com/en/medieval-castle-of-paphos-pafos) makes the claim that Paphos Castle was once a Byzantine fortress. However, the Lysandrou source that you cited contradicts this claim, and it seems like a more credible source. I am planning to update the article to reflect the more credible source that you linked. I'm not sure what "the excavation report in note 2" is referencing. Could you paste the text that you believe is incorrect? Qutecumber1 (talk) 16:34, 4 July 2026 (UTC)

References to Sforza are not accurate

This quote from the article states that Sforza was a Spanish mercenary, yet he was actually an Italian who used Spanish troops (see reference to Sforza in https://www.researchgate.net/publication/305398007_Introduction_to_the_History_of_Cyprus).

The article also implies that Sforza's guidance was used during the defense of the castle during the Mamluk invasion of 1426, but Sforza was not born until 1519. See the following sources that agree on the 1519 birth year:

Removed statement since I couldn't find a reliable source speaking to the castle's prominence relative to other landmarks in Paphos.
