History

[edit]

It would be useful to add when the name was coined; and who did so where. Right now this information is quite lacking in this article.

I heard the term only recently myself in a systems biology course. 80.110.95.98 (talk) 21:20, 8 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

Merge proposal

[edit]

In February it was proposed to merge the synonyms Multiomics and Panomics. That's a great idea, as these are clearly synonyms. Even better would be to merge both to a section, perhaps headed Multiomics, on Physiology, as it seems that these terms are just neologisms for that long-standing concept. I suggest merging the two first, then discussing what might be a more contentious proposal to Physiology. Klbrain (talk) 12:45, 10 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

I agree with the merge to Multiomics, I don't think that that would be contentious. IMO this might just be along the lines of "aka panomics" (with ASCO ref) in the first sentence of the Multiomics article. I assume a redirect from Panomics to Multiomics would be a part of that. Not so sure about the merge to Physiology, Multiomics seems enough of its own thing to me, anyway. Amkilpatrick (talk) 13:04, 11 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
