Discussion on statue

[edit]

A very disturbing thing happened in the early hours of today (27 October 2005 GMT+13). The Pania statue was stolen! This is a tragic loss as its a part of our history here in Napier.

  • and probably to melt down the metal I doubt it'll ever be found.

Is Aotcaroa == Aotearoa? I can't find anything about it by searching with Google, but the National Library page claims that Manuhuia Bennett was the Bishop of Aotcaroa. Perhaps it would be better not to change his title, even if Aotearoa is a more modern form? I don't know enough about this, so I will leave it for someone who does to fix. AotCaroa -> typo. That's why google reveals little on it, but gives something like 6,000,000 hits on AotEaroa. Cheers. Moriori 19:48, 30 October 2005 (UTC)Reply
