Palk Strait in Tamil

The article starts with Palk Strait (Tamil: பழக ஸ்ட்ரைட்). I think it is meant to show the translation of Palk Strait to as it is referred to in Tamil both in India and Sri Lanka. It is therefore "பாக்கு நீரிணை" as it is written in Tamil wikipedia: http://tawp.in/r/6yr .

But if it is meant to show only a transliteration into Tamil then it could be "பாக் ஸ்ட்ரைட்" though there can be some variations in both parts of the name due to pronunciation differences. But the transliteration of Palk to பழக as shown now is definitely wrong and should be corrected

"Minimum depth"

The lede mentions the strait having a "minimum depth" of 9m, but this makes no sense to me - How can a body of water have a minimum depth? I think the source implies 9m to be the maximum depth, but it is of questionable reliability. What gives? AviationFreak💬 18:49, 11 May 2023 (UTC)

Palk Strait or Adam's Bridge?

The article, in its present form, seems to consider the Palk Strait as passing on (or mixing with) the Adam's Bridge. While it seems that the consensual definition of the Palk Strait is the maritime gap between the Coromandel Coast (southeastern India) and the Jaffna Peninsula (northern Sri Lanka), between Cape Calimere and Point Pedro.

According to the Encyclopædia Britannica : "Palk Strait, inlet of the Bay of Bengal between southeastern India and northern Sri Lanka. It is bounded on the south by Pamban Island (India), Adam’s (Rama’s) Bridge (a chain of shoals), the Gulf of Mannar, and Mannar Island (Sri Lanka). @Drusekoana, As per the source and its definition, Britannica defines the strait's boundaries as so. I do believe, as it is the source that has been used, it needs to be changed to reflect the same as the current definition seems to be incorrect unless there are other sources indicating so.
