Proposed merge of Paika (community) into Paiks

The Paik militia people worked in the following kingdoms: Bhoi dynasty, Ahom kingdom, Mallabhum kingdom, Kachari kingdom, Jaintia kingdom. Today, their descendants live in the states of Assam, Bengal, Manipur, and Odisha. Both page are same Bongan® →TalkToMe← 11:10, 14 January 2025 (UTC)Reply

Oppose; these are separate topics and are best kept as such. Paiks describes a corvee system that collapsed in the late 18th century; Paika (community) describes a modern community or caste. A merge would only confuse readers. Klbrain (talk) 00:52, 22 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
