The definition should not be limited to boats or oil & gas decks. Any ear or tab of material (the "pad") that has a hole ("eye") for the purpose of attaching another item (rope, shackles, slings, etc) should be included in the definition. Padeyes are frequently installed for lifting any item, such as boxes, crates, tools and structures, with a crane. 66.249.100.228 (talk) 15:10, 21 August 2008 (UTC)
Lug Plates?
