Trivia

[edit]

In talking with Packeteer support today I came away with the following bits of trivia:

-The logo's two arrow/rocket things at the end of its spirals are said to represent the Rocketeer (a 1991 film). Likewise, the name Pa-cketeer is said to be patterned after the Ro-cketeer. -The equipment's curious purple color were somewhat of an accident. One of the founders, when shown the initial design of the unit by the production/assembly company, uninspired by a grey and black look, asked if it could come in any color. They said yes and asked him what he wanted, so he took them outside, pointed at his electric violet pickup truck and said he wanted that. They settled somewhere in between, on a deep purple instead.
