The transposons as a genetic tool article only covers the P element; it would be better condensed and merged into this article; a new transposons as a gentic tool article could be written at a later date if necessary. --Peta 01:16, 12 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Good question. My university lecture notes refer to "a short duplication (8bp) of host target sequence DNA" inside the terminal inverted repeats. However I am not sure what this means or how they arise. Famedog (talk) 12:42, 24 April 2011 (UTC)Reply
