"in the case of the PICkit 2, to generate voltages from 3 to 5 volts"

This is not correct, since PICkit 2 can generate voltages from 2.5 volts. I have used the device (with red button, if it matters) for programming and powering up my circuit at 2.5 volts. Here is an extract from the manual (PICkit 2 Microcontroller Programmer User's Guide - DS51553E):

3.4.1 The application circuit is powered by the PICkit 2

The PICkit 2 supply voltage may set between the maximum and minimum voltages allowed by the device programming specification, unless the minimum is below +2.5V. Be sure to set the voltage box to the appropriate voltage before programming the device or turning on VDD.

Therefore I change to from 2.5.

A am still not sure about the upper limit, I did not find it in manual, but I can check it myself on the device. Seldwiki (talk) 11:22, 29 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

I restructured the article according to the French version. Please review it, especially the first paragraph. Seldwiki (talk) 12:20, 29 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

It is worth noting that there is a PICkit 3 application claiming to support the logic analyser feature. This presumably did not exist at the time of the original complaints, and the assertion that the PK3 lacks features of the PK2 may no longer be valid. 212.159.121.228 (talk) 11:23, 16 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

Pickit plus self advertising?

[edit]

Mentioned here, two forum threads, only reference is the first party website. Seems suspect. --50.127.67.245 (talk) 03:18, 14 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

I agree. Moreover, as of today, the link to sourceforge doesn't work.

Pickit 5 should be mentioned
