The fourth citation link is broken or unfounded
[edit]I have a problem when access to the fourth link. It looks something like this:

This is complete nonsense!
[edit]The polymerization reactions of many, many synthetic thermoset plastics create larger molecules. AND THAT'S THE ACTUAL WEIGHT OF A MOLECULE!! (NOT the Molecular Weight (multiplying any mass over ~10 kg by 6E23 gives a MW larger than the mass of the Earth.) I'd wager some weigh multiple tons. I haven't read the original paper, but the claim that this is the largest stable synthetic molecule ever made is false - IF interpreted absolutely. It may well be (or have been) the largest molecule synthesized with an exactly known molecular weight - since thermosets don't generally have exact formulae or MW (ok, molecular 'mass'). What I'm saying is that the claim is false. The fact that the WP editors are either unaware of its ludicrous nature or are complicit in the false claim is sad. For this to be true, the qualification that is absent MUST be added to the WP article. I also note that the largest DNA molecule synthesized, so far (? not sure how current it is - see WP:Synthetic genomics) is the E.Coli 4.6 million base pair DNA. The base pairs range in MW between 289 and 313 Da, and the average of the four is 308.5. Do the math. 309 x 4.6E6 = 1.4 GDa (or 7 times as large as PG5's)~2026-92463-4 (talk) 23:54, 13 March 2026 (UTC)
