Ōwenga → Owenga – Attempting to undo my requested move from November 2025. I emailed the New Zealand Geographic Board to find out more information about whether or not the name has a macron, and I was told that the official name is Owenga and have added relevant information to the name section of the article to reflect. When I requested the move about a year ago, I did so prematurely; I saw some sources calling the settlement Ōwenga and assumed that that was the official name. • Support, although you didn't need to make a formal RM, the only other participant is now blocked as a sockpuppet. This is similar to Ohakune, which was commonly spelt (and still is ) with a macron despite the name not using a macron in Maori Traumnovelle (talk) 05:19, 21 September 2026 (UTC)

  Kia ora, thank you for voting. I tried to request speedy deletion for the Owenga page as it was blocking me from making the move, however, this was denied as I had made the above requested move in the past, so consensus was required. This was just after User:Agnieszka653 was blocked, and before the tag was placed on this talk page, so not everyone was aware, including myself.
