I've heard overlay in the context of guaranteed prizepool, or added prize money to online poker tournaments, that if you buyin for 22 dollars, and there is a 10 dollars 'overlay', for each player in the tourney, 10 dollars are added to the prize pool. Anyone who knows a proper definition, since it lacks this disambiguation page? /Dodde 01:02, 5 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Smothering

[edit]

I deleted "Smothering" from this list. I feel that a link to that page is inappropriate in this context. I couldn't find where it was introduced in the history, however I suspect that it was added to "Overlay" in jest (especially since it called smothering where "an adult rolls over an infant in sleep" or what have you).

Malingering

[edit]

I observed use of the world "overlay" and "overlaying" in a psychiatric context. One of the hits I get in web search on the term "psychiatric overlaying" (without the quotes) is the Wikipedia entry for malingering though the string "overlay" or "over lay" is not currently part of the body of this entry. The term was used in this context in the film Don't Say a Word. Halconen (talk) 14:48, 13 June 2013 (UTC)Reply
