So who were the duo?

Ottawan was a pop music duo, who scored the hit singles "D.I.S.C.O." and "Hands Up (Give Me Your Heart)" in the early 1980s. Fronted by Caribbean-born Jean Patrick Baptiste and Annette, they were masterminded by French producers Daniel Vangarde and Jean Kluger.

Annette Eltice or Etilce?

Throughout the Internet and, in particular, language versions of Wikipedia (e.g. FR,, EN) there are spelling divergences as regards the surname of the female main act, Annette Eltice OR Etilce.

I have tried to find out, by way of an Internet research, which spelling is correct, with limited success. Here are my main considerations and findings:

• Annette Eltice OR Etilce came to France, where she rose to success, from the French Caribbean, so French sources should be more reliable than others.
• It looks like “Etilce” is a French surname borne by other people as well, and “Eltice” is not (https://www.filae.com/nom-de-famille/ETILCE.html).
• Trying to establish the frequency of "Annette Etilce/Eltice"+"singer/chanteuse" hits via google by 3 November 2019:
  • “Annette Etilce” "singer": 9 hits
  • “Annette Eltice” "singer": 214 hits
  • “Annette Etilce” "chanteuse": 107 hits
  • “Annette Eltice” "chanteuse": 142 hits

This slightly favours the spelling “Etilce”, doesn’t it?

Ottawan "is" a French pop music "duo" with one member?

Either "is" should be canged to "was", or it should be rephrased as now not a duo.
