[edit]The opening information for this article said "Older English forms are orthoepeia and orthoepia.", but this information is not in the OED, nor could it be verified. All uses on the internet that I examined are either referencing this Wikipedia article or are given a transcription of the Greek word into Latin letters. Neither of these forms appears to be English. --EncycloPetey 04:55, 2 February 2007 (UTC)
- For what it's worth, and I know it's not the same thing, I have seen orthoëpy: "The orthoëpy, i.e. correct pronunciation, of Arabic consonants is most easily acquired by learning from a Moslem to read the Corân aloud." (Elementary Arabic: A Grammar; being an abridgement of Wright's Arabic Grammar, published by Cambridge University Press, 1905.) Mga 16:48, 27 June 2007 (UTC)
