Timeline on Truman encounter can't be correct...
[edit]I was an admirer of the late Orion Samuelson's work--I proudly worked in Chicago local television news production 1998-2000, including WGN-TV, which is located on a campus a couple miles northwest of their radio studios in The Wrigley Building downtown.
I always appreciated Samuelson's understated on-air style. Inasmuch I'm a decidedly suburban and urban guy, I learned much about commodity markets and other issues facing agricultural Americans due to his frequent, brief and always informative reports for WGN Radio.
President Truman's final day in The Oval Office was Inauguration Day 1953 [i.e., Tuesday, January 20, 1953], and former President Truman died Tuesday, December 26, 1972--so Samuelson COULDN'T have met Truman twenty years after leaving office! Nineteen PERHAPS, but NOT fully twenty years. [signed] FLORIDA BRYAN ~2026-16945-09 (talk) 21:54, 17 March 2026 (UTC)
