Italian page

[edit]

I think it's time to create the Italian page Fatemiscegliereunnomepls (talk) 08:28, 14 October 2025 (UTC)Reply

Agreed. Could someone create the italian page? NicolaM28 (talk) 12:59, 9 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
The italian wikipedia is an dark place. Many pages are deleted for no reason, in my opinion, simply because they're deemed "non-encyclopedic." Many Italian public figures don't have their own Italian voices, but they do in other languages. Raising the argument that a page exists, for example, in English isn't considered a valid reason.
Many pages are deleted because they don't pass the scrutiny of a dark lord... or rather because of some personal rivalry?
If you're wondering, yes, even the ORA! page is one of those pages that have been deleted. ~2026-34354-59 (talk) 20:53, 10 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
Yeah I saw, that's pretty sad tbh but it is what it is.
I think that ORA! needs to run in the 2027 elections and then the "dark lord" should accept the page. Fatemiscegliereunnomepls (talk) 21:00, 10 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

Is ORA! a liberal party?

[edit]

I acidentaly made a revert without explaining, i accept the debate @ToxinDemon 666. i think this is not a liberal party because part of the intellectual career of boldrin is founded on the explicit rejection of liberalism please see the book Inattualità del liberismo and as segretary of ORA! rappressenting the political line of the party based on their statuto he repeatedly said that ORA! is not liberal they are a pragmatic movement. Lorydex (talk) 00:44, 9 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

The problem is that this is not a reliable source denying that the party is liberal. Far-right parties can deny being far-right, but if the sources say they're far right, they're far right. The party is described as liberal, so it must be described as such, unless there are sources describing the party as not liberal (and this controversy will be added in the text). The opinion of the party's leader or founder can be added here or on their page, but it cannot define the party, whose ideology should be based primarily on non-primary sources. I found this article:

ORA! eschews the liberal label both in its congressional theses and in the statements of its representatives—the national secretary has argued for years that "liberalism is out of date." The differences are not about tone or merely theoretical principles, but about current issues: skepticism toward European public debt, explicit support for Ukraine since before the invasion, rejection of Israeli and American policies in the Middle East, pragmatism in relations with China, structural reform of schools and universities, and the strategic reorientation of industrial policy. On each of these issues, as on others, the recent Italian liberal tradition has often taken positions that ORA! does not share.
Which yes, is a statement from the secretary (but published on an indipendent source), but it makes a compelling point. If Merz declared that private property should be abolished, and the last congress of the CDU emended the program to include the establishment of a dictatorship of the proletariat, should they still be considered "conservatives" if everyone says so?
I'm not sure why there are contrasting sources, maybe it's to early to define in such specific manner a new party Kolymin (talk) 01:08, 10 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
But this article simply republishes Boldrin's response on the topic. Again, it's the party's founder/leader who denies that the party is liberal, not an analysis from the independent source that agrees with this position.
Wikipedia relies on the sources cited: if the CDU suddenly declared it wanted a dictatorship of the proletariat, this would certainly be included, but if all sources continue to categorize the party as center-right, there would be no sources to say it's far-left.
A recent controversial case was the American Communist Party, currently not classified as far-left due to sources reporting it to be far-left, far-right, or a mix of these. There are also cases of technically incomplete articles: the United Socialist Party of Venezuela is still classified as left-wing to far-left, and socialist, despite the fact that in the talk section is argued that Maduro has given the party a neoliberal turn. Similarly, many European "center-left" parties (now de facto centrist) cannot be reclassified as centrist until sources report this.
And from the sources we have, the party is labeled as centrist and liberal. ToxinDemon (talk) 09:00, 10 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
