[edit]I created this page separate from sound-on-film because the latter applied to all types of sound film, while this focuses on uses of optical sound technology in other areas as well, including maritime communications, phonograph record production, and musical instruments. Maybe include more information on the types of analog optical soundtrack, particularly with reference to variable density versus variable area, and the technology used to create them. Lee M (talk) 19:57, 24 July 2021 (UTC)
