I will get to this momentarily.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 15:26, 2 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

Thanks. I'm around if you want to discuss anything and to make changes as necessary. --Shimbo (talk) 15:47, 2 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
  • This is in really good shape, just some minor issues that need to be addressed.
  • The artificial harbor was not developed, as the capture of German-held areas that could threaten the port was not completed Awkward, rephrase
Done Rephrased as The artificial harbor was not developed, as the US VIII Corps failed to capture German-held areas that threatened the port - GS

  • Master's theses are not considered reliable sources, so you'll need to find another source for the facts attributed to Williams and Denny
  • Obviously that's a huge change. I'll have to work on it and let you know. Are those sources okay as opinion (i.e in the "debate" section or do they need to be removed completely? - GS
  • While not a required change, I'd suggest adding ISBNs or OCLC numbers to your refs that lack them.
  • Will check, but I think some of the references are too old to have an ISBN. I don't know what an OCLC number is- GS
  • OCLC #s were used before ISBNs. Go to and look up each book by title or author. Scroll down to the bottom of each book's page and you'll see an entry for OCLC #. Be sure to match the exact edition that you used.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 02:20, 4 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

  • Use ranks only on the first use for each person. And link the rank and add an abbreviation in parentheses if used a lot, like Major General (MG)
 Done
  • More links are needed for geographical locations like Normandy, Brittany, Antwerp (add country as well)
 Done
  • Provide a metric conversion for 3000 yards
 Done
  • Also add a link for coastal guns

  • However, the other critical location, Belle Île, was not cleared by late August Clarify that no plans had been made to invade the island at this point.
  • The problem with Belle Île is it's not clear from the sources what actually happened. There's one reference, in Cirillo IIRC, that mentions that the plan to occupy it wasn't complete by late August, and that's it. That could imply they were in the process of clearing it, or that nothing had happened and it was still fully operational. - GS
  • Operation Chastity's prerequisite locations (Brest, Lorient, Belle Île) The specific locations are redundant at this point as they're amply covered earlier
 Done
  • surrendering only after the unconditional surrender of Germany Proximity alert for surrender! I'd suggest changing the first one to capitulation or some other synonym
 Done
  • Expand the acronyms COMZ and SHAEF
 Done
Done changed to causing them to rout out of France - GS
There's one more example in the cancellation section.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 14:27, 4 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

@Sturmvogel 66: I've made most of the changes. I have a couple of comments/questions. --Shimbo (talk) 16:41, 3 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
