There's 31 German Generals lost in Operation Bagration.

Does anybody have a reliable source of a list of 31 German Generals killed , commit suicide , captured or missing in Operation Bagration ? Please make a edit of it. --Comrade John (talk) 21:21, 22 June 2016 (UTC)

I've researched this topic extensively. No author, writing about Bagration, had done a real research into how many officers in total were lost.

The total number of German General Officers lost (KIA, MIA, POW, suicide) during Bagration was actually 36, not 31. That is for June- August 1944.

Hi Denniss, you didn't leave an edit summary in your revert of my recent edit. The Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic was also part of the Soviet Union, as well as Belarus and the Baltic states. Spelling of Bobruysk

Glantz an House ref in infobox/Casualties

I just reverted a removal of this ref but anyone with access to both the 1995 and ~2015 version please verify this source for the casualties as written in infobox. Inspiration for the codename Bagration?

Prince Bagration in Tolstoy's War and Peace is presented as an ideal type of general and strategist. I'm guessing that that character was the inspiration for the above codename. But can we find a citation for the connection between the Tolstoy character and the codename? Or any cited source for some other inspiration for that codename?
