First volume cover as profile picture and plot

Hi. I still insist on the topic of adding the first volume cover as profile picture, for many reasons, one of them is to avoid spoilers for newcomers. Nihongo Template

Should I use a Nihongo template in the name One Piece (Japanese: ワンピース, Hepburn: Wan Pīsu) similar to other articles regarding about manga series such as That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime?

It is true that the title for the manga is shown as "ONE PIECE" in capital letters of the Latin alphabet, but it also includes the Japanese writing on top as "ワンピース", so I don't see a problem with using the Nihongo template at the beginning of the article, since the Japanese writing itself is also part of the title shown in the covers of the chapters and volumes of the manga. The other series mentioned in the discussion also include katakana, like Banana Fish, D.Gray-man and Angel Beats, but that's there to make it easier for Japanese readers; it's of no use to the average reader of the English Wikipedia. People researching about the subject, may prefer to see the Japanese name in transliteration and original language, so instead of using the Nihongo template why not put the name on the InfoBox as there is a JA section. But the original Japanese title is "One Piece" (in all caps); the Katakana script is just a pronunciation guide for Japanese readers and not the actual title. Putting it there may give readers the wrong impression. Link20XX (talk) 00:20, 8 June 2026 (UTC)

@SammySong: If you'd like, you can start another discussion on this topic at WT:ANIME. Personally, I think that the number of people who are interested in knowing how the title of series is written and pronounced in Japanese, or who read the article hoping to find that information, is likely a tiny fraction of the site's average readership.
