That sentence bit sounds kind of weird. Does that mean that he was the only child of two second-generation Russian Jewish immigrants? Being the "only child of two children" is a really strange phrasing. Nakonana (talk) 16:00, 8 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
Actually no, per the article on Dan Burros, the mother was a first-generation immigrant ("Esther, who had immigrated from Russia aged two, worked occasionally as a saleswoman."), so the above phrasing makes even less sense. Nakonana (talk) 16:08, 8 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
I wrote this article in like a day with no one else checking it and I have a tendency to produce rather tortured prose. Sources do refer to his mother as a child of immigrants, despite her also being one, for some reason. I have changed it, it is hopefully less bad now. I would move the clause that includes Frankel's criticism "for not satisfactorily answering the question of why Burros ended up how he did" to the appropriate subsection on the topic or remove it as superfluous
although you are not required to have citations for everything in the "Contents" section, in the case of a book, it would be easy and not harmful to include citations to page numbers in the primary source. that would prevent future modifications not attributable to the contents of the book
Well, in this case, a lot of the uncited sentences are summaries of 20-30 page ranges, so I don't think that would help. This is a fairly abbreviated summary (since we already have a full article on Burros).
there is no full citation for the book itself. you sometimes make refs to "Rosenthal & Gelb 1968" but the full citation for the book should appear on first citation, no?

Yeah. I am not sure if that one is copyrighted or not. I've never seen that image anywhere except the cover of the paperback edition.
