Systemic aspects?

[edit]

The final sentence, "However, Freud and other psychoanalysts who conceived of language acquisition as an aspect of pure brain activity typically overlook the interpersonal, social, and systemic elements of language acquisition and word meaning," is rather like concluding an article on Newtonian physics with the sentence, "However, Newton overlooked the interpersonal, social, and systemic contexts in which physical objects are used." Technically true, but saying it implies that phenomena should be studied holistically, as a New Age mystic would, rather than analyzed scientifically. Philgoetz (talk) 01:34, 5 June 2019 (UTC)Reply
